The Physics of Genesis

Creationism/Evolutionism/Intelligent Design: Sorting out the Issues from a Philosophical Perspective. This non-sectarian presentation is designed for teachers, civic groups, science groups, or anyone interested in an accurate assessment of the current debate surrounding origins. The philosophical roots and commitments underlying each approach are explored and its strengths and weaknesses are assessed from that perspective. Each of the popular approaches varies considerably from the teachings of the Bible and those differences are highlighted in order to underscore the point that the issues at stake in today’s discussion about origins are neither religious or scientific but are rather a matter of personal philosophy. People attending this presentation will be able to more effectively explain and defend their position whatever it might be and will be able to understand and critique alternative approaches.

Learning to Trust the Bible Again: This is a presentation designed for Churches and religious organizations including groups exploring the relationship between the Bible and science. The presentation focuses on the importance of reading Genesis as a verbatim description of the act of creation. It demonstrates how such a reading will result in an understanding of the universe that more closely resembles current thinking in quantum physics than any of the ideas circulating in popular discussion or religion today. This is a program that will deepen believers’ interest in the Bible and their confidence in its message cover-to-cover. It will encourage Bible study and offer an evangelistic outreach for seekers returning to the faith as adults.
